The contract involves the design and construction, using the “turnkey” formula, of a new hydroelectric energy production plant with a capacity of 66MW. Performance of the works will also involve the construction of a RCC (Roller-Compacted Concrete) dam standing tall, measuring in length and with a volume of 375,000m3.
Works are planned to commence in the first half of 2009 and the total duration is 50 months. The works have been commissioned by CEL (Rio Lempa’s Hydroelectric Executive Commission), El Salvador’s electricity company while the BCIE (Central American Bank for Economic Integration) will be responsible for funding the project.
